The Tourism Foundation announces the winners of the first Palma 365 photography competition

More than 2,000 photographs have been entered in this project

500 people wanted to join an initiative whose main goal was to achieve mass involvement

Palma, 2 May 2016.- This morning, the Tourism Foundation has announced the winners of the first Palma 365 photography competition.

The jury was made up of the head of the Tourism Foundation, Pedro Homar; the managing directors of Palma Town Hall's Tourism and Communication Department, Alfonso Meaurio and Juan Carlos Palos, respectively; the manager of the photography section of Serra Group, Joan Torres; the marketing manager of El Corte Inglés, Rosa Romagosa; the director of the Mandarina Creativos agency, Juan Gavilán, and Ana Rosa Rivero from Logitravel's Communication Department. They were responsible for selecting the winning photograph, out of more than 2,000, for each of the five categories in the competition: Culture, gastronomy, sports, shopping and a category called "Live Palma" as well as the special prize called "Palma 365".

The assessment criteria that the jury has followed is that the photos had to depict an image of the city that was modern, dynamic, happy, alive and cosmopolitan that explained why the capital of the Balearic Islands is "the best city in the world to live in". That is why priority was given to the fresh and current images that transmitted sensations or experiences capable of encouraging future visitors.

The winners by category are as follows:
1 - Shopping. Mario Eduardo.
2 - Culture. Pablo Sabater Planelles.
3 - Sports. Rafael Balaguer Prunés.
4 - Gastronomy. Miguel Llull Rubert.
5 - Live Palma!! Jose Manuel Álvarez Simó.

And the overall winner of the competition is: Pablo Sabater Planelles.

The first Palma 365 photography competition that took place on 15 February has come to an end with successful levels of participation. Residents and visitors alike wanted to join an initiative whose main goal was to achieve mass involvement.
It was really simple to participate: the first step was to visit www.palma365.es , a website created exclusively for the competition and was designed for participation from any type of mobile device.
