Photographs and mirrors reconfigure the perception of space. The paper articulates a reflection on archive, truth and memory.

Lucía Gorostegui in the exhibition Las Veces, curated by Cristina Moreno and Antoni Amaya creates a site-specific installation in the Casal Solleric’s old aljibe in order to explore matters of perception and memory in the context of architectural space. Inside the aljibe, elements are displayed in dialogue with the architecture, inciting reflection on the cultural perception of space-time.  Las Veces intertwines reminiscences of the past with the present and offers different perspectives on the interaction between spectator, space and artistic expression.

Begoña Martínez, complements the project with Las Voces, an open dialogue on how people on the autism spectrum visualize the world. This event brings out the similarities and differences between autistic and conventional perceptions, promoting learning and empathy. The dialogues recorded and sampled generate a sound experience inside the aljibe, reflecting the sensory immersion and strengthening the relationship between art, neurodiversity and community. This activity is part of an ongoing research by Gorostegui and Martínez, aimed at encouraging reflection on diversity in the perception of reality.

The project Las veces was the winner of the COP Open Call for Artistic Projects 2024, called by the City Council of Palma, through the municipal area of Culture and Visual Arts.
